clear No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I bought this dryer in July because it was the only model that fit depthwise in my Laundry room. Gave it only 3 stars b/c it is not energyÕs star rated and the buzzer is very irritating and loud. Very basic-drys clothes adequately. Would have bought a higher end dryer if I could.

I bought this dryer because of space limitations since it is in a closet. It replaced another GE gas dryer we had for 25 yrs and the timer went bad among other things due to age. This one brand new out of the box very cheaply made for the price paid. And it doesn't even heat on the Time dry cycle. Service call needed as soon as it was delivered. Perfect, run as far as you can from this one!

We have had trouble with this unit from the beginning. It is so cheaply made that the dryer moves forward when you pull on the door and goes back when you push to close the door. Something inside vibrates constantly and after 2 service calls, it is still vibrating. We have all GE appliances in our home and have been pleased with them. This dryer has been a huge disappointment. It appears that the unit was made a cheaply as possible without any regard to quality.
