clear No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I spent so much time researching and reading reviews on dishwashers and fridges. I bought 2 higher end versions if those appliances and this review speaks to the dishwasher. The fridge was also reviewed with disappointment and neither of the appliances have lasted a year without a breakage. First, I wanted to like the 3rd rack. We tried and tried it. But it limits height in the 2nd rack (glasses and bowls) so significantly that we finally took it out. Then, the 2nd rack is designed to be modified as needed with tines that fold inward. Well, it's got plastic clues to arched these moveable parts and guess what? They are prone to being mis-sized, mismanufactured, and just plain poorly done. So we have tines that flop over, won't stay engaged and had to be ziptied. Finally, the control panel has gone out partially and half the lights don't light up. The darn thing is less than a year old. Getting a repair person to come fix it has also been a pain, so all in all, I wouldn't recommend buying this dishwasher. Buy something with less frills. Keep it simple. It just needs to wash the dishes well, not have 1000 options.

We recently purchased this LG dishwasher to replace a KitchenAid dishwasher. We have been very happy with it. I am not sure why other reviews said the dishes did not dry well, as I have not had that problem at all. It is very quiet and has a lot of room for dishes. I like that I can wash several sizes of bowls, etc. Very pleased.

We have own this product for just a month and have been extrmely happy with it. My life loves the third tray for items that can be placed flat to be cleaned. A new feature for us is that when you open the dishwasher a light comes on to let you see where your are placing the dishes. The machine itself is extremely quiet, and in fact I was not sure the first time if I had started the machine. Very satisfied with the product.
